11 Month Old Baby Milestones:

Let’s see the changes in weight, development and baby care of 11 month old baby.

1. Weight:

A year and your baby has grown so much. It is literally hard to imagine there was a time he was 1/4th his current size. If he can stand well, make sure you record his height and take it to the doctor for assessment. Talking of his weight, he should weigh about 2 pounds more than his original weight. You might want to get an idea of how the growth is evolving. Don’t forget to take photos each month, so you can compare them by the end and see the difference for yourself. An annual record will easily help you determine whether it is your or your partner’s genes that have more effect on your baby.

2. Baby Care:

While your baby can’t wait to explore what the world has to offer, you need to make sure everything around him is just as secure as it gets for a baby to be around. You need to make him feel reassured since now is the time when even the tiniest discomfort will have a lot of issues in his growth pattern. Cuddle your baby occasionally and make him feel confident about himself. Ensure you being his parent, stay around him all the time. Keep the floors of your house clean since he will prefer crawling more as he has recently mastered that art. Wash his hands before he goes to bed as chances are he will put them in his mouth to show he is hungry. He will finally start loving his bathing time so don’t leave him unattended near a pool or bathtub. Leave your smoking or take it outside as these otherwise increases chances of breathing issues and asthma for your baby. Don’t forget to child proof your home and teach him to use things independently thereafter. This will make sure he is more than just another wobbly toddler.

3. Feeding:

Breastfeeding at the age of 11 months for your baby is good of course, but only breast feeding isn’t. In case your child doesn’t like to eat other fruits and vegetables, encourage him instead of giving up. He needs fresh nutrients to grow and offering him cups of milk instead of bottles should be better now. Avoid cow milk for the time being and take to breast suction pumps instead. Formula solutions can prove to be a good option for you and you can always make sure there is well-cooked rice, meat and fish in his diet. That should help him known what his future feeding diet will be like and he can start to get used to it. There is no reason to panic if he is showing no interest in indulging in anything but breast milk, just try having your food in front of him and make good expressions to intrigue him into having what you offer him.

4. Sleep:

His sleeping pattern at the end of 11 months should be way more defined. There should be two major sleep time apart from the night. The morning time is when your baby shows no sign of struggle and just settles down easily. Afternoon sleep is when the trouble creeps in, and he might have difficulty sleeping owing to the noise there is in the household. Try and work on a schedule after noticing how he usually sleeps. Depending on his activities the time when he is tired is when he falls asleep. Which is why, you need to make sure the span in between two of his naps remains eventful. Talk to him and encourage him to play, thus tiring him more, increasing the chances of him falling asleep.

5. Development:

By the end of the 11th month, your baby is still growing and developing his own set of skills. Allow him to continue at his own pace as you take him to places outside so he can interact more. Your baby at this stage may have either started walking or is really close to it. Let him get there. His academic potentials are yet to be determined, but enrolling him to a playschool at his stage would be a good idea. He can now most certainly understand whole sentences even though how much of that he follows is up to his mood. You need to be extra cautious about how tall he has grown and how much his reach goes out to. Baby proof accordingly. You can see how his facial features are now changing and he needs bigger clothes to adjust his developing body into. Changes in the vocals and pitch can also be noticed at this stage.

6. Food Recipes and Toys:

Now that his diet contains more solids, make sure whatever you put in has all the essential nutrients. A good mix of dairy, vegetables and fruits should be ideal. He will probably run around a lot, so make sure you give him tiny snacks to have him energized. Don’t force him for a meal and always remember to keep adding flavours to make his taste buds develop faster.
