From Caudalie to RMS Beauty: 16 of the Best New Beauty Products

Fall is *officially* here, and so are a wealth of new beauty products! As usual, I've done the edit—so these are the ones you REALLY need to know about. They include:

  • Pretty tinted balms for that effortless French girl look
  • All-new cream luminizers from my number one favourite beauty brand
  • The most important fragrance launch of the season
  • The best luxe lipstick to invest in now

Here we go!

Caudalie French Kiss Tinted Lip Balm

Tinted lip balm is usually all I want to wear, and right now, I'm reaching for Caudalie's new French Kiss Tinted Lip Balms. There are three shades, and they're designed to give your lips a “just-bitten” effect.

Séduction (top) is a petal pink; Addiction (middle) is a raspberry red; and Innocence (bottom) is a baby doll pink. The latter doesn't really show up on my lips, so I've been wearing the other two, especially Addiction.

The texture of the balm itself is thin but hydrating, and not goopy or greasy at all. So it really does look like your lips… only better!

RMS Beauty Luminizer X Quad

RMS Beauty is churning out the launches lately, and I couldn't be more thrilled. The Luminizer X Quad contains four brand new luminizer shades that are ONLY available in this palette.

Luminizer X (top left) is an amped-up version of the cult-favourite Living Luminizer; Luminizer Nude (top right) is a subtle copper; Champagne Rosé (bottom right) is a warm blush champagne; and Champagne Fizz (bottom left) is an opalescent shimmer.

If you ask me, RMS Beauty makes the best luminizers on the market (both in terms of ingredients AND finish). So if you haven't had a chance to try them yet, this quad is perfect!

Chanel Gabrielle Eau de Parfum

Gabrielle is Chanel's first fragrance in 15 YEARS! Named for the brand's founder (who was Gabrielle before she was nicknamed “Coco”), it is a feminine white floral.

The notes include jasmine, ylang-ylang, orange blossom and tuberose, with a musky sandalwood base. On me, it's a bit powdery, but not in an “old lady” way—just really pretty and elegant.

It may not have the uniqueness of past Chanel scents, but if you're a white flower person, I think you'll be into it!

Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette

Marc Jacobs Beauty just discontinued ALL their existing eyeshadows—and replaced them with the gorgeous new Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palettes. Each contains seven shades in four finishes, inspired by the fabrics in Marc's latest collection: matte velvet; shimmering satin; sparkly silk; and metallic lamé.

There are six colour harmonies to choose from. In the first photo, Glambition gives you tried-and-true bronzy neutrals, while Scandalust is similar but warmer, with a surprise scarlet tone. Smartorial and Frivoluxe are all about the blues and the violets. Then there's Provocouture, which combines plums and magentas; and Edgitorial, which has gold and deep green.

The texture is super-buttery, and compared to the old shadows, the colour payoff is incredibly intense. So much so that you'll probably need to adjust your application technique if you're used to working with less pigmentation.

But I wouldn't say that these are only for people who like bold eye looks. They can easily go subtle, too, and with such beautifully chosen colour combos, you just can't go wrong!

Giorgio Armani Ecstasy Shine Lipstick

Every fall, there's one lipstick launch that stands out, and this year, it's the Giorgio Armani Ecstasy Shine Lipstick. This is a formulation that gives you the pigmentation of a lipstick with the texture of a balm and the shine of a gloss.

There are 21 shades, and I tried 506 Maharajah (left), a cool-toned pinky red; and 300 Play (right), a warm-toned coral red. I love both!

These have a wonderful weightless texture on the lips. Plus, how beautiful is that red packaging?!

Revlon Mega Multiplier Mascara

Tubular mascaras have fallen out of favour these last few years, so I'm excited that Revlon decided to come out with one—the Mega Multiplier Mascara. But it's actually not just a tubing formula. It deposits buildable fibers as well!

That means you get a lot more volume than traditional tubular mascaras, which I've always found a bit lacking. I've been wearing this non-stop for the past month, and haven't experienced ANY smudging.

Tubing technology is a must for me, since everything else smears with RMS Beauty “Un” Cover-Up around the eyes (the best makeup for your skin). So if you're experiencing the same issue, I'd give this mascara a shot!

Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara

Another amazing lash launch this season is Lancôme's Monsieur Big Mascara. I've always thought Lancôme made some of the best mascaras on the market, and this one is no exception. In terms of traditional (non-tubing) formulas, this is definitely my new favourite.

What makes it great? It coats your lashes beautifully with creamy, flexible, jet-black pigment. The brush is easy to work with and you get both volume and length, FAST!

In my testing, I didn't experience any flaking, and only minimal smudging by the end of day, although that's no doubt because I wore it with “Un” Cover-Up. If you love volumizing mascaras, you won't be disappointed!

Nudestix Nudies All Over Face Color

It's always good to have a multipurpose colour in your handbag, that can be used in a pinch on lips, lids and cheeks. Following in the footsteps of Bite Beauty's Multistick (reviewed here) is Nudestix's Nudies All Over Face Color.

On one side is your colour, and the other has a built-in brush for blending (although you'd have to make sure to keep that very clean!). There are two shade families to choose from: Bronze + Glow and Mattes.

I tried one of each. Illumi-naughty is an amazing pearly shimmer, while Bare Back is a universally flattering cool-toned nude. They're really easy to blend and long-wearing.

Phyto Phytomillesime Beauty Concentrate

One of the things Danilo taught me was that spray-in hydrating products can instantly transform and “reboot” your hair. Phyto's new Phytomillesime Beauty Concentrate does just that, with 95 percent natural ingredients!

This is a multitasking leave-in treatment that hydrates, boosts shine, minimizes frizz and makes styling easier. If you colour your hair, it also protects from fading.

I've often found these types of products too heavy/greasy for my straight hair, but not this one. It's really light! I've been using it after my hair has air-dried, and it helps it look more smooth and polished. It's also great to refresh your style before going out.

Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink

If you need a lip colour with serious staying power, look no further than Maybelline's SuperStay Matte Ink. This is a matte liquid lipstick that goes on creamy and then takes about 10 minutes to fully dry down and set. After that, it will not budge—for HOURS!

The pointy tip makes it easy to get a precise application around the Cupid's bow, which is so important with colours this vibrant. There are 10 to choose from; I tried 45 Escapist (left), a Gothic blackened berry, and 25 Heroine (right), a tomato red. Both are super-bold, but if you blot your lips before they set, they double as subtler lip stains.

Just keep in mind that you'll need an oil-based makeup remover to get 'em off—this stuff is industrial strength!

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick

If creamy finishes are more your thing, then I'd go with Bite Beauty's Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick. These are full-coverage, high-pigment liquid lipsticks with a satiny shine. And did I mention they're creamy? So, so creamy.

There are 18 shades, ranging from pinks (top) to nudes (middle) to oranges and reds (bottom). I think the formula works best in classic pinks and reds; I found the nudes and fluoro shades tended to look heavy/goopy. My two faves are Mix, a wearable hot pink, and Candied, a subdued red.

Note that the wand isn't as precise as Maybelline's, and it does deposit a lot of product, so expect to take a little time perfecting the application. You also may need to blot, as it can move around and get on your teeth!

But if you're prepared to deal with a higher-maintenance lipstick, know that the hydration level is off the charts. So these will be amazing in cold weather!

Kenzo World Eau de Parfum

The second perfume launch that caught my EYE this fall (hehe) was Kenzo World Eau de Parfum. I love eye things, so I'm obsessed with this bottle (the “lashes” are the cap!).

The star here is Ambroxan (amber), although it starts off very fruity-floral thanks to notes of raspberry, peony and jasmine. I like it better after a few minutes, when it becomes less sweet and more sensual.

I kinda wish they did something more avant-garde to go with the bottle and crazy commercial, but all in all, it's a lovely wintertime fragrance.

Sisley Instant Éclat Instant Glow Primer

I'm always on the lookout for low-silicone primers, and Sisley Instant Éclat Instant Glow Primer is my latest discovery.

This is an illuminating primer that you can wear in a few different ways: all-over under makeup to boost your radiance; mixed in with your foundation or tinted moisturizer; or on the high planes of your face for a strobing effect.

It feels weightless on the skin, and picks up the light beautifully, without looking obvious or glittery.

Where to buy: Nordstrom ‣ Saks Fifth Avenue ‣ Neiman Marcus ‣ Bergdorf Goodman ‣ Selfridges

bkr Spiked Water Bottle

Did you know that bkr's beloved water bottles now come in Spiked form? The spikes won't hurt you, though, because the sleeve is made of soft (but durable) silicone.

It protects the BPA-free glass bottle from breaking, and both can be tossed into the dishwasher, no problem. You know you want one!

Where to buy: Nordstrom ‣ Sephora ‣ Saks Fifth Avenue ‣ Well.ca ‣ Shopbop ‣ Revolve ‣ Neiman Marcus ‣ Spring ‣ Selfridges ‣ Murale

Chanel Rouge Allure Ink

One last lip launch to tell you about. The shade (158 Highway, along with 156 Lost) is new and part of Chanel's fall/winter collection. But the product itself—Rouge Allure Ink—I don't think I've talked about yet!

It is a matte liquid lip colour, but a luminous matte. Unlike Maybelline's, the texture is fluid, and it lets some of your natural lip tone peek through. It's also non-drying. Of all the liquid lipsticks I've tried, this is by far the most easy to wear.

There are 10 shades in all. I love the peachy tone of 158 Highway, and I also purchased 142 Créatif (coral) a few months ago. I can't say enough good things!

Where to buy: Nordstrom ‣ Hudson's Bay ‣ Neiman Marcus ‣ Bergdorf Goodman ‣ Harrods ‣ Chanel

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Full Coverage Anti-Aging Waterproof Concealer

And the final product I want to alert you to is the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Full Coverage Anti-Aging Waterproof Concealer. Those of you in the US may already be familiar with it, but here in Canada, the brand has JUST landed (at Sephora). If you ask me, this is the product to try!

It is a full-coverage, non-drying, waterproof concealer that can cover any skin concern. This is ideal for dark circles, acne scars, you name it. Because it's so highly pigmented, the tiniest smidge goes a long way.

It comes in six shades; right now I'm a bit tanned, so I'm wearing Medium. Light is VERY light, so I anticipate having to mix them in the wintertime.

Personally, I love this for spot concealing, which I do with a Japonesque lip brush, wearing lighter coverage everywhere else. I find that gives a much more natural skin finish!

Conclusion

So there you have it—all the amazing beauty launches that are ticking my boxes for fall.

If I had to narrow them down to my absolute favourites, they would be the RMS Beauty luminizers, Revlon mascara, Phyto spray, Chanel stain and It Cosmetics concealer. That's what's in high rotation chez moi right now!
