The Best Pixie Cuts for Wavy Hair

Q: I recently donated my hair, and cut it to chin-length. Since then, it has gotten to almost shoulder length (a little longer than the photo… this was taken a couple months ago).

I've been thinking recently about getting it cut a lot shorter (think pixie-length), but I am unsure of what style would suit me best.

My hair is naturally wavy and brown, a pretty normal texture and medium thickness. What should I do with it? I'm up for anything. Thanks! — Alicia

A: Wow, what a natural beauty you are, Alicia.

You could do almost anything with your hair—as long as you would be happy with it, it will suit you.

This is my first option:

With your natural movement and colour, it would obviously be a great look for you.

This dark shade of colour would certainly make your eyes pop, and would be a bit more edgy:

A dark rinse will be the easiest way to acquire it and the easiest way to get rid of it. When you have short hair, it is the best time to play with your colour if you want drama.

This is a very current colour that would be super-cool on you:

A little harsh on the hair, but again, if it is short, then it is easy to grow out, and you can always colour it a darker shade to make the grow-out painless.

Have fun with these suggestions. If you are to keep it long, please do not colour your hair. The reason being, with all of the short layers, there is not enough length for the light to reflect and show off your natural colour.

Hair colour changes throughout your life and you will never have this one again.
