Canada produces some of the finest and hottest actors the world has ever seen but the funny thing is, so many people out there assume they are just American and have no idea they are from Canada at all! In fact, it’s not just actors either! Did you know that rapper and singer Drake was born in Canada?

Here are 10 more surprising people you might not know were actually from Canada – 10 hot Canadian male actors!

1 – Ryan Gosling

He’s the cream of everybody’s crop, isn’t it? Surely you’ve been on Pinterest with meme after meme of this beautiful creation. He’s got a body to die for and a face to match and let’s face it, we all fell in love with him a little bit after seeing The Notebook.

34 year old Ryan was born in Ontario in Canada on November 12th, 1980 and he’s not just an actor. He’s a singer, musician, director and screenwriter too. It’s his acting that seems to have won him the most awards.

2 – Ryan Reynolds

Another Ryan and another total cutie. This Vancouver born Canadian (October 23rd, 1976) has some Irish in him which must explain the unbelievable cuteness, and in fact, his family is so Canadian, two of his brothers are cops in British Columbia with one of them being an infamous Mountie! Oh did you know he was once engaged to the Canadian singer Alanis Morisette too? They broke up back in 2007 however, but things have been much happier since then. He met Blake Lively back in 2010 when they were filming Green Lantern together and just a couple of months ago, they announced to the world that they were expecting their first child.

3 – Hayden Christensen

Star Wars actor Hayden Christensen was also born in Vancouver in British Columbia just like his fellow Canadian Ryan Reynolds. Born on April 19th, 1981, this 33 year old hottie recently became a father for the first time with girlfriend (and fiance)Rachel Bilson. Despite an on-off relationship (they broke up back in 2010), they seem to be happier than ever with new baby girl Briar Rose who was born on October 29th, 2014.

4 – Cory Monteith

The world went into shock when 31 year old Glee star Cory Monteith died on July 13th, 2013 of a suspected drug overdose. Born in Alberta, Canada, he certainly was one of the cutest things ever to have come out of Canada and co-stars and fans alike went into mourning following his early passing. He had lead somewhat of a troubled life which is said to be the reason behind the tragic story, but we will never forget Finn Hudson! <3

5 – Joshua Jackson

36 year old Joshua was born in Vancouver, Canada on June 11th, 1978 and over the years, has managed to bag himself over 30 different film roles! Not bad coming form the small part he had in Crooked House back in 1991, right?

He moved out of the states for a while but back in 2009 when filming the second series of Fringe, he moved back to his home city of Vancouver where he lives part time (and part time in Paris) with his girlfriend, the German actress – Diane Kruger. They’ve been together since 2006.

6 – Keanu Reeves

Poor Keanu Reeves hasn’t had an easy time of things with a pretty tumultuous personal life that has seen him go through quite literally what can only be described as hell and back.

He might be 50 years old but that hasn’t stopped him and although he wasn’t actually born in Canada (but Lebanon), he has Canadian nationality after moving there with his mother back in 1971.

7 – Jay Baruchel

32 year old Jay Baruchel was born in Ontario, Canada on April 9th, 1982 and is well known for a string of films even through you might not realise it. With hits such as Million Dollar Baby, Knock Up, How to Train your Dragon, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and Tropic Thunder under his belt, he has making a very firm name for himself in Tinseltown!

He actually still lives in the place that he grew up in – Montreal, Quebec, close to his freelance designer mother, and his antiques dealer father. Isn’t that adorable?

8 – Daniel Gillies

The Vampire Diaries hottie Daniel Gillies was actually born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada on 14th March, 1976 and is possibly one of the hottest guys to ever come out of the country. He actually classes his nationality now as a New Zealander as his parents decided to move back to their native country of New Zealand when he was five, but he did briefly return to Canada for a couple of months before he set off for LA to pursue his acting career.

9 – Stephen Amell

Sorry but have you seen the CW TV series Arrow? Well this amazingly beautiful Canadian hunk plays the part of Oliver Queen (or The Green Arrow) in the hit show and believe it or not, he was actually born in Toronto in Ontario on May 8th, 1991. W aren’t sure if it’s the facial hair, the eyes or the dazzling smile but something stands out about him. Sadly he’s married. In fact, he married the same woman twice (they renewed their vows not divorced!) and seeing as she’s an actress and a model (Cassandra Jean), we imagine it would take some prising away if we wanted him for ourselves!

10 – Taylor Kitsch

Have you ever seen Friday Night Lights? If you haven’t you should, plus you’ll see this hottie in it and we don’t really need any more of an excuse to drool over this cute little face.

Born in British Columbia, Canada on April 8th, 1981 he’s been in a few films that you may have seen him in – X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) or Battleship (2012). There’s a film coming out in 2015 that you might want to check out if you want to see a little more of him… Almost Heroes 3D is animated so technically, you’ll be hearing him rather than see him but you know what we mean! Keep your eyes peeled!
